Huupe builds a connected basketball hoop that combines hardware, computer-vision software and a streaming content network of training videos. The hoop detects made, hit and missed shots; its backboard is a video screen covered by the same enforced glass used in professional courts. The screen streams coach and trainer videos that users can follow solo or in groups, and the computer vision tailors feedback to players’ performance. Huupe was founded in 2015, bootstrapped for years, raised a seed round last year and recently secured $11M to scale.
