1845 Fairmount St Stop 118, Wichita, KS, 67260, United States
Overview
HyperBorean, founded in 2013 by Todd Gentry and based in Wichita, Kan., is an HVAC startup that developed an air-conditioning compressor which converts waste heat into a power source for cooling. The company spent more than four years on research and development to invent the compressor. Using heat sources such as concentrated solar power (CSP), the technology can cool structures without the need for grid power. HyperBorean received $2.1m in angel funding to advance its technology. Backers include members of Landmark Angels and Precocity Capital (both in Connecticut), a principal with Heartland P5 in Kansas City, and additional angel investors in Wichita, Tulsa, and Kansas City. The angel round will fund third-party field tests and support growth of the team and sales channels.
