Hyperspace builds a cloud-native, software-as-a-service managed database that accelerates lexical and vector search workloads using domain-specific computing, combining FPGAs and GPUs. The company sells access to managed database software hosted on AWS and charges by size and query volume rather than selling hardware instances. CEO Ohad Levi claims Hyperspace’s instances can deliver up to 10x faster searches, 5x higher throughput and 50% lower cost on average compared with typical databases, and says they are generally faster than Elastic in one comparison. The platform handles structured and unstructured data including video, images and text, and the company reports early enterprise traction with customers such as Forter, nSure and Renovai. Hyperspace says it tripled its annual recurring revenue and total contract volume over the last year. The firm plans to scale to “thousands” of instances, launch a free entry-level plan, and is developing a pipeline of additional search-focused products.
