ibble is built around asynchronous short-form video posts assembled into back-and-forth conversational threads, with its short-form clips running up to about 90 seconds. The app is mobile-first and will have a web presence, and it offers an Explore section to help users find new conversations or trending news clips. Creators can make conversations public or private and can designate who may respond, while participants and viewers can extract clips into private threads via a “spark” feature. The company seeded content by hiring 100 creators to produce hundreds of conversation-starting posts and ran a private beta earlier this year; today’s debut is a gated soft launch with a waitlist. ibble started about 18 months ago and is based in downtown Austin, Texas, in offices above two nightclubs on Sixth Street.
