ieCrowd, founded in 2010 and led by Chairman and CEO Amro Albanna, combines entrepreneurship and the crowd to develop innovations into market-driven solutions to global challenges. The company vets and selects discoveries sourced from scientists and engineers at universities and research institutions. Its first solution, Kite Patch, is being designed to make people virtually invisible to mosquitos as a potential breakthrough in the fight against malaria. ieCrowd raised an additional $2.2M and has now raised $7M in total. Investors in the latest funding include physicians, healthcare professionals and other private funders from around the world.
