iFactory
東京都大田区矢口3丁目8-15, Tokyo, Ota-ku, Japan
Overview
Founded in 2019, Tokyo-based iFactory builds a module-based, fully automated continuous manufacturing platform that tackles labor shortages, quality variation, and high facility costs in drug and chemical production. The system encloses the manufacturing process in a sealed structure, cutting clean-room build-out expenses while significantly shortening production lead times and lowering costs—results validated in a NEDO strategic energy-saving demonstration completed in 2023. iFactory has already attracted strong interest from domestic and international pharmaceutical companies and CDMOs. With the new capital, the team will expand demonstration facilities, hire additional engineers, and establish mass-production, assembly, and service capabilities. The company also plans to roll out “share labs,” on-site “dock” services, and new high-value “killer modules” to accelerate customer adoption. Financial performance metrics were not disclosed, but the firm has secured government backing through multiple NEDO programs to advance commercialization.
