Overview

iGlue, developed by Budapest-based in4 Ltd, builds a browser widget that ‘wikifies the web’ by using natural language technology to recognize people, places, institutions and other entities and display related data, images, videos and events in a timeline. The product also supports community-contributed entries so users can add their own data, potentially turning sites into Wikipedia-like resources. iGlue was unveiled at TechCrunch Europe’s Geek ’n’ Rolla event in London. The company says it will use the new funding to launch automated and hand annotation tools and to complete additional feature development work. Financially, in4 Ltd accepted a $550,000 follow-on investment and PDV says the new round doubles its original commitment and values the company at over $5.5M. PDV and iGlue’s CEO Péter Vaskó are quoted on the product and funding in the article.
