Berdac Smart Services produces IMA (Intelligent Medication Assistant), an automatic pill dispenser designed to improve patient adherence by alerting users and providing the correct dose at the push of a button. The device supports real-time medication tracking accessible to users, relatives, social services, insurers and telecare companies. The company manufactured its first 2,000 IMA units as it works to close commercial agreements. Berdac was founded by Roger Guasch and was incubated at Barcelona Activa in January 2019, and is based in Barcelona. The team counted four employees at the time of the report with plans to triple headcount within three months. For 2020 the company aimed to consolidate in the Spanish market and expand into the U.S. market.
