Overview
ImageMoverMD provides a platform that leverages deep integration with electronic health records to automate capture, management and storage of clinical photos and videos into PACS systems and medical image archives. The company’s technology simplifies workflows for capturing images from various collection modalities and is designed to be agnostic to any EHR while remaining compatible with any PACS or archive system. Launched in 2014 and led by CEO Darcey Nett, ImageMoverMD says its platform has automated the management of millions of images and supports numerous image-focused clinical workflows. The company was included in Epic’s App Orchard and its Mobile solution has been launched at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to enable secure capture and storage from iPhone and Android devices. ImageMoverMD will use the new financing to grow its network of customers and expand its technology offering. ImageMoverMD offers a platform that links mobile-captured photos and videos to a patient’s electronic health record via a QR-code workflow and encrypted transfer so images become part of the hospital’s picture archiving system and are removed from the user’s device. The product launched in 2015 and was designed to address BYOD security risks while keeping the upload process simple for clinicians. It is EHR-agnostic but was built to work seamlessly with Epic; UW is a customer and many other institutions are running pilots. The company also has reseller agreements with IBM and white-label arrangements for other resellers. Use cases include dermatology, pediatrics, wound management, burn units, trauma, orthopedics, and monitoring neurodegenerative disease progression; the team says the platform can be customized for other scenarios such as first-responder image transfer. Financially, ImageMoverMD has raised $2.7 million to date and recently completed its second fundraise of more than $1.1 million.
