iMod Structures designs, manufactures and installs DSA-approved high-performance prefabricated "Future Proof" classrooms using its steel-frame iMod High Performance Building System. Founded in 2009 and based on Mare Island in Vallejo, California, IMS operates a 100,000-square-foot factory that produces relocatable, reconfigurable, sustainable and long-lasting classrooms. Its classrooms achieve 40 feet of clear span without internal columns, can be delivered fully assembled and ready for utility hookup within days, and standard units are delivered within six months of a contract. Products are available in single- and two-story configurations; second stories can be added to or removed from existing buildings and relocated as needed. The company plans to use proceeds from the financing to finalize factory renovations and expand its customer engagement and deployment team to enable commercial-scale production later this year. The Series A is the company's first institutional investment.
