Impensus Electronics develops a controlled-environment technology platform that actively monitors and regulates ethylene concentrations, temperature, humidity and other microclimate variables inside enclosed ripening and storage chambers. The platform is designed to extend shelf life, reduce spoilage and standardise ripening outcomes; the company currently focuses on banana, mango, apple and specialised edible mushrooms. Impensus is incubated at IIT Madras Research Park and was founded by Guru Vignesh V and Dinesh Narayanan. It has commercial partnerships with BigBasket, Paiyur group and distributors serving quick-commerce firms such as Hyperpure and Zepto, indicating early commercial validation. The company has received institutional support from MeitY through the Crescent Innovation and Incubation Council (CIIC).
