The company originally set out to build a battery-powered electric pizza oven but broadened its focus to reframe the home appliance industry around whole-home electrification and edge energy storage. Impulse says integrating batteries improves performance, removes barriers to installing induction stoves, and adds storage capacity that can serve the grid. The startup announced its official launch alongside a $20M Series A and plans to use the financing to get through the major checkpoints required to ship its first hardware product. Leadership expects the round will allow Impulse to take orders from paying customers and to open preorders within the next year with realistic delivery timing. The company is positioning its products to advance residential and light-industrial decarbonization by enabling electrification without major built-environment or distribution upgrades.
