Overview
ImToken builds a multi-currency cryptocurrency wallet and blockchain infrastructure products, serving users for Ethereum, Bitcoin and other chains. The wallet currently has 12 million users and holds over $50 billion in assets, with total transaction volume exceeding $500 billion. The company operates imToken Labs as its blockchain research arm and plans to expand that group and open offices in additional countries. Product roadmap for imToken 3.0 includes keyless accounts, account recovery and a suite of decentralized finance services. ImToken was founded in 2016, launched in Hangzhou and later moved its headquarters to Singapore. About 70% of users are in mainland China, with sizable user bases in South Korea, the United States and Southeast Asia. The company has a team of 78 people across mainland China, the U.S. and Singapore and expects to grow to about 100 employees this year. imToken is an Ethereum wallet founded in 2016 and based in Hangzhou. The app supports 30,000 tokens, claims more than 4 million monthly active users, and handled $35 million in pass-through transactions last year. Beyond the core wallet, imToken offers Tokenlon, an in-app decentralized exchange built in partnership with Kyber Network and 0x, and a DApp marketplace. The company says it aims to become blockchain-agnostic so users can store different assets in one wallet and to lower barriers to managing assets and payments. Using new capital it plans to add support for Bitcoin, EOS and other blockchains and to roll out imToken 2.0 International. Expansion targets include Southeast Asia first, then other Asian markets (Korea, Japan, India), African countries such as Nigeria, and the U.S.
