Overview
Incline Therapeutics focuses on developing IONSYS, a fentanyl iontophoretic transdermal system intended to provide patient-controlled analgesia for adult inpatients requiring opioids following surgery. The company secured an exclusive, worldwide license to IONSYS from ALZA Corporation. IONSYS was previously approved by the FDA and EMA in 2006 but is not currently marketed; before commercialization Incline must seek regulatory approval for new patient safety features. FDA approval will also require an acceptable Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy to manage risks associated with fentanyl's abuse and misuse. Incline completed a $43M Series A financing to support development and regulatory work. As part of its corporate actions, investor representatives and Cadence Pharmaceuticals have been added to the company's board, and Cadence holds an option to acquire Incline.
