inContAlert

Erlanger Straße 21, Bayreuth, Bayern, 95444, Germany

Overview

inContAlert develops a sensor and mobile application that measures bladder filling level and notifies users when a predefined threshold is reached. The system provides insights on optimal timings for bladder voiding and is aimed primarily at patients with neurogenic bladder disorders such as spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, bladder cancer, or Parkinson’s disease. The company says the technology could also be applied to help children with bedwetting. Founded within the University of Bayreuth ecosystem in September 2022, the project traces back to an initiation in 2017 by Dr. Jannik Lockl and Tristan Zürl; Nicolas Ruhland and Pascal Fechner joined later as co‑founders. inContAlert intends to use funding to conduct studies, obtain CE marking as a medical device, and prepare for market entry, with CE approval expected in early 2024. The article does not disclose operating metrics such as revenue or user counts.
