Overview
InCred Finance operates as a tech-enabled lender focused on consumer loans, student loans, and MSME lending. Founded in 2016 by Bhupinder Singh, the company manages a loan book of Rs 7,500 crore. It is part of the broader InCred Group, which also includes wealth and asset management, investment banking, and retail bonds businesses. Sixteen months ago the firm completed an all-stock merger with KKR India Financial Services, creating InCred Financial Services. KKR, Teacher Retirement System of Texas and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority together hold a little more than a third of the merged entity. The company says it will deploy fresh capital across its core verticals and aims to eventually list the business to unlock value for shareholders. InCred is a digital lending platform focused on consumer and SME lending across four verticals: consumer finance, education, budget housing and SMEs. The company is using new capital to diversify its lending business model and to incubate new businesses. Investors expect the firm to broaden its product set and explore new segments; a July report indicated a possible move into wholesale lending. InCred has a prior funding history of about $75 million raised in 2016 in a round led by Anshu Jain. In September it was reported to be in talks to raise Rs 1,000 crore via equity selling.
