InDex Pharmaceuticals develops DNA-based immunomodulatory sequences (DIMS) targeting innate immune receptors for inflammatory diseases. Its lead candidate, Kappaproct®, is a DIMS that targets toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) and is being developed for severe ulcerative colitis. The company is led by CEO Jesper Wiklund and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. InDex expects to report data from a Phase III study of Kappaproct in summer 2014. Financially, the company closed a $20M funding round in 2014 led by NeoMed Management. Earlier financing includes a $7M Series A in 2011.
