Overview
Indix offers a Product Intelligence platform, App and APIs that deliver deep insights, machine-learning algorithms and comprehensive product information (price, assortment, channel and other attributes) to commerce businesses. The company says it provides data for nearly one billion products and currently tracks more than 800 million products across over 7,000 categories. Customers use Indix to improve product search and discovery, optimize promotions and offers, enrich catalog attributes and analyze market and competitors. Indix reported a record Q1 2015, driven by more than 250% year-over-year revenue growth and relationships with major brands and retailers. The company plans to use new funding to grow its team of data scientists and engineers and to expand sales and marketing efforts. Indix has offices in Seattle, San Francisco and Chennai. Indix builds a cloud-based product index that aggregates product information from across the web and exposes APIs and apps for brands and retailers. It has captured around 250 million product URLs, catalogued over 50,000 brands and nearly 10,000 product attributes. The company, founded by Microsoft veteran Sanjay Parthasarathy in 2012, aims to create an "infinite product catalog" and to make applications "product aware." Indix positions its platform to help retailers and brands gain real-time insights on competition, pricing, promotions, and inventory through customized apps and APIs. The firm launched a set of "product aware" apps alongside the funding to broaden integration with consumer utility apps and enterprise systems. Indix does not sell products directly to consumers and focuses on serving enterprise clients such as retailers and brands. Indix develops big data, analytics, visualizations and applications focused on product and services companies. The company is building a cloud-based product intended for business users worldwide. It operates out of Chennai, India and Bellevue, WA and was founded in late 2010 by CEO Sanjay Parthasarathy. Indix says it will remain in stealth mode until later this year while it develops the product. The company raised $4.5M in the current funding round and previously raised $1.4M from seed investors, including Nexus. Proceeds from the new round will be used to accelerate product development and to scale marketing and sales in the United States.
