InfaCare is a pediatric drug developer based in Trevose, Pennsylvania, focused on Stanate, a heme oxygenase inhibitor licensed from Rockefeller University to treat infantile jaundice (hyperbilirubinemia). Stanate is delivered by intramuscular injection and is designed to significantly reduce bilirubin production over a six- to eight-day period. The company initiated recruitment for a Phase 2 clinical trial earlier this year and says about 1,500 infants have been treated with the drug to date. InfaCare reports Stanate has shown efficacy in every patient who received it.
