Infinite Cooling builds the WaterPanel™ system that captures and recovers pure water produced as a by-product of cooling towers at power plants, data centers, and manufacturing facilities. The technology, developed at MIT, uses electric fields to harvest water from cooling tower exhaust and to capture cooling tower plumes, reducing evaporative losses. For a single medium-sized power plant this can save over a hundred million gallons of water and millions of dollars in water costs per year. The company has signed three contracts with industrial facilities across the U.S. and plans to deploy its product on large-scale facilities and expand its customer base. Infinite Cooling is mission-driven, co-founded by Maher Damak, Karim Khalil, and Professor Kripa Varanasi, and is based in Somerville, Massachusetts. It has won awards including the MIT $100K and MassChallenge and received federal grants from the DOE and NSF.
