Overview
Innovative Cellular Therapeutics (ICT) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company headquartered in Rockville, Maryland that is building a comprehensive platform of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies for both hematologic and solid cancers. Its lead U.S. candidate, ICTCAR014, is a CD19-targeting "armored" CAR-T engineered to express a dominant negative PD-1 protein, a modification intended to block tumor-mediated immunosuppression. The FDA has cleared an IND for ICTCAR014, and the company plans to initiate a U.S. clinical trial in early 2020 after observing a 92.3% objective response rate (53.8% CR, 38.5% PR) in 13 relapsed or refractory non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients treated in China. For solid tumors, ICT is advancing its proprietary “CoupledCAR” platform, which has shown encouraging human proof-of-concept results under IRB-approved studies in China. Proceeds from its recent Series B+ financing will fund the ICTCAR014 trial and further CoupledCAR development. No revenue or user metrics have been disclosed; the company remains pre-commercial and focused on clinical advancement.
