Instruqt builds a platform for creating interactive, self-service demos and sandboxed test drives so prospective customers can experience software in a realistic environment without full deployment. The product is used by companies including RedHat, MongoDB, Datadog and HashiCorp. The startup was founded in 2018 and had been bootstrapped for five years prior to the recent raise. Leadership includes CEO Coert Baart and co-founder/CTO Adé Mochtar; Baart previously co-founded XebiaLabs, which was sold to TPG Capital in 2020. Financially, the company has transitioned from bootstrapped status to taking outside capital via a Series A. Management framed the funding as a move to partner with a VC that understands their vision.
