iProov builds cloud-based facial authentication and verification technology that verifies live faces against ID and detects deepfakes, marketed as Genuine Presence Assurance and Liveness Assurance. Its customers include the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.K. Home Office and NHS, the Australian Taxation Office, GovTech Singapore, Rabobank and ING. The company says it tripled revenues in 2021; its NHS deployment helped the NHS app grow to 16 million users (from 4 million in May 2021) and peak usage exceeded one million facial verifications per day. iProov also offers a palm-based identification method and is exploring additional use cases such as vaccine certification and travel authentication. The company emphasizes GDPR compliance, says it does not use passing data for commercial purposes, and stores imagery to block malicious actors and track anomalies. iProov plans to use the new capital to continue building its presence in the U.S. and other international markets.
