IsItGood is a social podcast app that combines listening with a feed for sharing and discovering podcasts. The app provides a place to listen, a feed allowing listeners to share podcasts and see what friends are listening to, and sharing to other social platforms. It uses an algorithm to learn users' tastes and offer personalized recommendations. The product is currently in private beta. Founder Mark McTamney started the app after leaving Parking Panda, where he worked six years as director of marketing, following that company's acquisition by SpotHero. The startup received an early boost from a Startup Weekend DC event and participated in ETC's AccelerateBaltimore accelerator; the recent funding will support development. Plans include hiring a lead developer with a focus on local hiring and targeting a fourth-quarter launch.
