Issuu is a SaaS content publishing and marketing platform whose Story Cloud enables creators to transform static files into marketing assets. Its product set includes embeddable flipbooks for websites and blogs, mobile-optimized articles, motion-graphic stories for social media, and GIFs for email. The company hosts over 30 million publications and reports more than 4 billion monthly page views. Founded in 2006 and led by CEO Joe Hyrkin, Issuu is based in Palo Alto and also has offices in Copenhagen, Berlin, and Braga, Portugal. The firm says it will use new capital to scale teams, invest in product expansion, and compound accelerating growth. It last raised $10M in July 2014 from Heartcore Capital and KDDI. Issuu is a digital publishing and content discovery platform hosting more than 17 million magazines, catalogs and newspapers and reaching over 80 million visitors each month. The service delivers over 5 billion page views and adds over ten thousand new publications daily, serving hundreds of thousands of publishers. Publishers use Issuu to upload visually rich content and gain granular insight into reader behavior across tablets, desktops, laptops and smartphones without subscription fees. Issuu recently launched Clip, a product that lets readers discover, clip and share parts of publications to social networks. The company plans to use the new financing to expand its global publisher base, develop additional product features, and invest in people. Issuu is headquartered in Palo Alto and is backed by Sunstone Capital. Issuu transforms uploaded documents into interactive online publications and offers a free core service. The company recently launched Issuu Pro, a premium offering for professional publishers with ad-free viewers and per-view pricing ranging from $1.10 to $19 per 1,000 publication views. Issuu introduced a reseller program tailored to ad/web agencies, print shops, and media companies. Product enhancements include faster, more filterable search, a 'search-based remix' feature that creates custom magazines on the fly, improved library management, expanded format support, bulk upload, downloadable documents with music, and a new statistics application. Issuu also released the Issuu Platform developer suite, featuring a Search API (REST with XML or JSON responses) and a Viewer API that enables JavaScript control of the publication viewer. The company competes with services such as Scribd, Docstoc, and Calaméo.
