IT Trading develops quantitative trading software that uses a statistical arbitrage model to locate arbitrage trades among different exchanges. Its platform simultaneously executes trades and functions as a risk-management console for changes in market positions. The software has been under development for nearly a decade. The company received a $3.2m minority investment from Crescent Financial Partners. Crescent indicated it plans to scale the trading model to discover and benefit from statistical inefficiencies in highly liquid markets. Crescent also said it believes the algorithm is capable of generating non-correlated excess returns in both up and down markets.
