Overview
Ixaltis is a Toulouse-based biopharmaceutical research and clinical development company focused on genito-urinary diseases. The company acquired three molecules including litoxetine (IXA-001) under exclusive licence from Sanofi, IXA-002 (an MAO A-B inhibitor) and IXA-003 (an MAO B inhibitor). Litoxetine has shown efficacy in preclinical trials and Ixaltis has started proof-of-concept/Phase 2 studies in urinary incontinence. The company says it will use the newly raised funds to continue research into urinary incontinence. Ixaltis raised €8m in its first funding round from a group of investors and was also granted a €2.8m OSEO loan for the MAGENTA collaborative industrial research project. The company was created by urology and pharmaceutical experts Dr Philippe Lluel, Christian Chavy, Dr Roberto Gradnik and Professors Pascal Rischmann and Xavier Gamé.
