Ixana develops a proprietary low-power silicon chip and chip-based reference hardware to enable wire-free augmented reality with all-day battery life and real-time, on-device AI. The company says its chip overcomes thermal and battery limitations that have hindered everyday AR headsets. Ixana plans to preview its first chip-based reference hardware at CES in January 2023 and is testing developer/evaluation hardware that will ship in early 2023. The team includes co-founders Shreyas Sen (CTO), Shovan Maity (Head of Research), and Angik Sarkar (CEO), and comprises 15+ alums of Intel, Qualcomm, Silicon Labs, Texas Instruments, and others. Sen is also a Chair Associate Professor at Purdue University, and the company is soliciting interest through an evaluation kit waitlist. The company positions its technology as a foundation for wire-free, always-on AR experiences with broad applications.
