JackRabbit Systems builds BookDirect, a white-label online travel bookings product that lets any website embed a direct hotel booking system. BookDirect gathers rates and availability information from lodging properties and displays that information to consumers searching for rooms. Consumers using BookDirect can click from the search results to the lodging property's website to complete bookings. The software is commonly used by state and city travel sites; the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has integrated JackRabbit's software. Founder Andrew Van Luchene was formerly the sixth employee at Priceline. Since 2007, BookDirect has originated four million leads to hotels and the company has raised $1.33 million in this round, bringing total funding to $3.7 million.
