Jahazii
10th Floor, ABC Place, Waiyaki Way, Nairobi, Kenya
Overview
Founded in 2023 by Sven Grospitsch, Vaidehi Tembhekar and Martin Gitehi, Jahazii is building what it calls a “workforce operating system” for Africa. The software unifies HR management, payroll processing and embedded financial services, allowing informal-sector employers to automate compliance while giving workers access to part of their wages before payday. Additional features such as savings tools, insurance and financial education are delivered directly through the payroll rails, creating verified employment data that can unlock affordable credit. Jahazii currently serves manufacturing and agricultural employers in Kenya, sectors that collectively employ more than 10 million people. Management plans to deepen partnerships with large employers across East Africa to scale the platform’s reach. By embedding finance within payroll rather than issuing direct consumer loans, the company positions itself as infrastructure for a data-rich, employer-driven fintech model. No revenue or user figures were disclosed, but the recent funding will be used to accelerate product development and expansion.
