Jest
San Francisco, California, United States
Overview
Jest has built a distribution platform that embeds HTML5-style games inside Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging threads, allowing players to launch titles from a simple link without downloading an app. The model gives developers a 90/10 revenue split—dramatically better than the 70/30 norm in Apple and Google app stores—and even shares economics between the studio that acquires a user and the studio that monetizes that user. Four months into beta (through January 2026), players had logged more than 1 million game sessions and exchanged 300,000 in-chat messages, with Jest reporting 3–4× higher retention and 30–60 % lower user-acquisition costs than typical mobile games. Early partners include teams behind Episode, Puppy Mansion, and Kingdom Maker. The company is currently live in the U.S. and plans to expand to 14 additional countries by Q3 2026. To further seed content, Jest has created an internal Games Fund that will invest $1 million in flagship titles, $200 k in mid-stage games, and $40 k in experimental concepts. Proceeds from its recent seed round will be used to scale the platform and onboard additional studios.
