JingChi develops software and systems for fully autonomous (Level 4) vehicles using deep learning with LiDAR, cameras, radar and NVIDIA DRIVE PX to enable Robotaxi and Mobility-as-a-Service offerings. The company plans to ramp a fully Level 4 autonomous test fleet in China by the end of 2017 and to deploy hundreds of vehicles in 2018 for ride‑hailing operations. It signed an agreement with Anqing City to deploy an initial fleet of 50 autonomous test vehicles, with broader commercial deployment targeted thereafter and a stated ambition to apply autonomous driving at scale by 2020. The company also intends to expand its research and development teams globally following the recent financing. JingChi has more than 50 full‑time employees, over 80% of whom are engineers, and many team members hold PhDs from top universities. Financially, the company completed a $52 million pre‑A investment round to fund these development and deployment plans.
