Jitjatjo

1 Liberty Plaza, Suite 313, New York, NY, 10006, United States

Overview

Jitjatjo operates a gig marketplace and matching algorithm that lets organizations in healthcare, hospitality, education, retail and facilities management book workers with as little as an hour's notice. Workers complete paperwork and set availability via smartphone apps, are paid via debit card or direct deposit, and on Jitjatjo are classified as W-2 employees rather than 1099 contractors. The company offers a benefits package through Better and an optional $1-per-week add-on via Avibra, and says it leverages AI to streamline operations and internal resource allocation. Jitjatjo was founded in 2015, is based in NYC, employs around 120 full-time employees, has more than 40,000 gig workers on its marketplace and serves thousands of customers across three continents including Australia. The company will use new funding to expand into new markets and support its go-to-market strategy. The platform faces critiques including location tracking before shifts, reported hourly pay as low as $12.99 on Indeed, and app bugs that can cause missed gigs or delayed pay. Jitjatjo operates a mobile staffing marketplace focused on the hospitality sector, using AI to instantly and accurately match operators with vetted professionals. Launched in 2016, the company initially concentrated on New York City and has built networks in Chicago as well. Jitjatjo plans to expand geographically to additional U.S. cities and establish an experiential headquarters in New York. The company is advancing its machine learning capabilities to support the launch of an enterprise technology offering. Jitjatjo is also increasing its corporate headcount across sales, client success, talent acquisition and community management, and is reinforcing product and engineering leadership and teams. The company recently completed a Series A financing to fund these efforts.
