Overview
Founded in 2021 by former Baidu Apollo engineers Zhuang Li and Kong Qi, Jiushi Intelligence focuses on L4-level driverless technology for urban distribution and logistics. Its flagship RoboVan line, including the Z-, E- and L-series vehicles, handles loads from 2 m³ to over 1.8 tons and operates in closed parks as well as open urban roads without high-definition maps. The company has built a fleet of more than 20,000 autonomous vehicles that serve over 300 cities across more than 10 countries, completing 1.5 billion cumulative deliveries and helping customers cut operating costs by an average of 66%. Jiushi claims an 88 % share of the medium- and large-sized RoboVan market and a 76 % share among key express and logistics clients. Flexible payment models such as “low-cost hardware + software installments” and major contracts—like China Post’s lease for 7,000 vehicles—have accelerated commercialization. Continuous technology improvements have reduced remote-operation labor to under 3 % of monthly costs, supporting large-scale deployment. To date the firm has publicly raised well over $800 million and is valued at more than RMB 10 billion (≈$10 billion).
