Jobado
Herengracht 338, Amsterdam, North Holland, The Netherlands
Overview
Jobado launched native Android and iOS apps and a mobile website to let users request help with tasks ranging from lawn mowing to computer repairs. Customers pay after tasks are completed and satisfied; Jobado takes a 20% fee while the task-doer receives 80% of the payment. The company positions itself within the sharing economy to help people earn extra income or re-enter the job market and actively supports users, including assistance with filing taxes. At launch the startup employed four people. Jobado raised its first round of funding of over $625K to fuel expansion across the Benelux and into France, with plans to pursue full coverage in The Netherlands and simultaneous expansion to Antwerp and Paris. (Update – July 2023: the article notes the startup appears no longer in business under its original website and the link was deactivated.)
