Jojnts has developed a digital version of a national osteoarthritis program that delivers risk assessment, individualized treatment schedules, and coach-led physiotherapy guidance via an app and clinician dashboard. Users complete a short assessment and, if at risk, receive a customized program that physiotherapists monitor and tweak based on patient-reported data. The underlying program was developed in 2008 by Jojnts’ co-founders and backed by the Swedish government; clinical studies of more than 40,000 patients have shown the program can reduce pain. A Sweden pilot includes 150 users and the company plans a US pilot starting in May. Jojnts is in talks with payers and providers to implement the program in health systems and has a strategic partnership with the Swedish Rheumatism Association. It plans product expansion to web, iOS, and Android and to record English versions of its instructional videos to reach a global audience.
