Jostle.me sells a cloud-based enterprise platform that uses photos of employees as the foundation for internal collaboration and discovery. The service forgoes long rivers of text in favor of a landscape of pictures that frame the company around relationships. Images can be filtered by name, role, skill and other criteria; clicking a photo shows profile tags, a bio, contact details and contributions to projects. Visualization is central: users can view popular activities across the organization and how people relate to each other. Financially, Jostle.me raised $3.1 million in this round from a group of angel investors and has raised $4.6 million to date, all from private individuals. The company has 52 shareholders, including most employees and its directors, and says 84% of its investors come from risk professions such as property development, medicine or oil and gas.
