The founders, Titus Hüsken and Franz Koller, envision transforming the traditional gift-voucher market by giving recipients complete flexibility over what they buy. The company’s proprietary technology eliminates complex redemption processes and positions Joy_ as both a payments facilitator and a commerce automation platform. With fresh seed capital, the startup plans an initial retail rollout of its vouchers in roughly 2,000 MediaMarkt and Saturn stores as well as selected Edeka supermarkets. Investors describe the product as a potential disruption to future online shopping behavior. Although operating metrics such as revenue or user numbers were not disclosed, the €1.2 million raise underscores early investor confidence in Joy_’s scalable model.
