Overview

Jscrambler is a client-side protection and compliance platform that combines polymorphic JavaScript obfuscation with fine‑grained third‑party tag protection to safeguard front‑end code in real time. Its product suite includes Code Integrity (first‑party JavaScript obfuscation and runtime protection) and Webpage Integrity (third‑party tag risk mitigation and PCI DSS v4 compliance support). The company positions itself to prevent digital skimming attacks and protect customer cardholder data, targeting merchants, retailers, airlines, media outlets, financial services firms and other enterprises. Jscrambler emphasizes scalability and ease of implementation for development and digital teams, enabling continuous monitoring and threat prevention on web applications. The company will use new funding to accelerate customers’ PCI DSS v4 compliance efforts ahead of the March 31, 2025 deadline and to continue research and solution innovation. Jscrambler is headquartered in Porto, Portugal and serves a diverse set of enterprise customers, including Fortune 500 companies. Jscrambler develops client-side security products that harden web applications against code theft, application abuse, piracy and data leakage. Its Code Integrity tool uses polymorphic obfuscation, code locks and self-defending capabilities to scramble web source code and make it hard to reverse-engineer. The company’s Webpage Integrity module detects malicious client-side behavior and enables rules that block web supply-chain attacks and Magecart-style skimming. Jscrambler plans to add integrated capabilities that let website owners protect the client-side, secure user data and improve compliance with GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA. The startup said it will use its new funding to strengthen and accelerate its product roadmap to meet expanding customer requirements. Founded in 2014, Jscrambler currently has 40 employees. Jscrambler builds security products that protect web and mobile applications, with a flagship product that the company describes as the world leader in JavaScript Application Security, making applications self-defensive and resilient to tampering and reverse-engineering on the client side. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Rui Ribeiro. Jscrambler serves more than 30,000 companies and individuals across 150 countries. The U.S. represents around 50% of its revenue. Clients include Silicon Valley companies in streaming, e-commerce and video games, as well as Fortune 500 firms in banking and healthcare. The company intends to use the new funds to expand its business and develop its product portfolio.
