jSonar offers a database security platform that monitors every one of a customer’s databases at a glance, whether on-premises or in the cloud, and supports every popular database platform. The product is designed to give staff meaningful insights and the ability to monitor databases across infrastructure without using multiple tools across different networks and databases. The platform is popular with big banks, financial institutions, insurance firms and healthcare organizations, which the company says are a huge driver of revenue. jSonar has offices in Waltham, Massachusetts and Vancouver, B.C. and will use new funding to grow its database security offering. The company received $50 million from Goldman Sachs, and Goldman executive David Campbell will join jSonar’s board as part of the investment. Co-founder and CTO Ron Bennatan said the funding will help the company expand amid cloud adoption, an explosion of database platforms, and growing enterprise demand for data security beyond compliance.
