Overview
JULO provides a mobile-first, data-driven underwriting and risk assessment platform to process consumer credit applications and deliver near-instant credit decisions. Its product suite includes personal loans and a digital credit card launched in 2021, which supports non-cash payments and e‑wallet top-ups. The company emphasizes ongoing credit lines after a one-time assessment and claims strong product-market fit, having disbursed more than $300M to date. JULO reports more than 500,000 active users and says lending grew over 3x in 2021, with the loan book on track to increase more than 5x in the next 12 months. The platform is licensed by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK). JULO plans to expand analytics, product development, marketing, and talent hiring to scale its offerings and customer acquisition. Julo is a Jakarta-headquartered peer-to-peer lending platform that issues loans primarily through its Android app. The company provides loans of about $300 at interest rates of roughly 3–5% per month and says its alternative-data credit scoring system enables lower rates. Julo works with banks and individual financiers to fund customer loans and has disbursed about $50 million to date. The two-year-old startup has raised about $16 million in total funding so far. Julo plans to use the fresh capital to expand its team and further improve its credit scoring system, and intends to focus on growing within Indonesia. Quona Capital highlighted that a significant majority of Julo’s loans are used for productive purposes that can enhance economic well-being and drive financial inclusion.
