Jupe
660 Maple Ave, Torrance, California, 90503, United States
Overview
Jupe develops autonomous, hard‑tech shelter units (an MVP chassis with an aluminium exo‑skeleton) intended to provide dignified, internet‑connected temporary housing. The current version is aimed at temperate climates (roughly 5°C–27°C), withstands high winds but cannot handle heavy snow; the next version will add a hard top for four‑season use. The company has started shipping units, has more than 300 preorders, and the founder lives in a Jupe unit in San Francisco. Jupe says its units are 10x cheaper and faster to deploy and ship 15x more efficiently than traditional temporary mobile housing solutions. Its go‑to‑market model is to place Jupes on land, rent them via a booking platform, charge a small licensing fee, and split revenue 50/50 with landowners while hot‑swapping and upgrading units. Jupe has booked around $7 million of revenue to date and is hiring a senior technical CTO to scale the product and platform as it pursues much larger housing goals.
