Overview

Jupiter provides probabilistic, hyper-local climate-risk analytics via its ClimateScore™ Intelligence Platform and specialized services (FloodScore™, HeatScore™, WindScore™, FireScore™, ClimateScore Global™) to public- and private-sector customers. Its subscription service offers access to nearly 150 trillion data fields produced using cloud-based supercomputing. Jupiter serves 30 companies in the Global 2000, the U.S. Department of Defense, and FEMA, and its analytics are used across at least 20 sectors of the global economy. The company reports protecting over $10 billion of physical assets and more than $1 trillion of financial assets for customers including asset managers, banks, insurers, energy firms, and governments. Jupiter plans to use new funding to accelerate sales and customer support expansion and to increase R&D investment to deliver additional value to current and future customers. The firm emphasizes helping organizations incorporate climate risk into capital planning, supply-chain management, asset valuation, and resiliency planning. Jupiter offers predictive data and analytics to help safeguard critical at-risk infrastructure from extreme weather, sea-level rise, storm intensification, and rising temperatures driven by climate change. Its ClimateScore™ Intelligence Platform provides dynamic, hyper-local, probabilistic risk analysis from the current hour to 50-plus years. Product lines include FloodScore™, HeatScore™, FireScore™ and WindScore™, used across regions worldwide. Customers span asset owners in critical infrastructure, insurance and banking, energy, real estate, and the public sector for applications such as capital planning, risk management, site selection, and shareholder disclosures. The company is finalizing development of its FireScore wildfire product and plans to deploy an expanded suite of solutions in the coming months. Jupiter said it will use new capital to expand operations and accelerate product development to meet evolving needs in new geographies and rising demand as the global economy recovers. Jupiter Intelligence offers asset-level climate-risk analytics and predictive data derived from satellite imagery and advanced climate and statistical models. Its toolkit produces probabilistic, insurance-grade forecasts that translate global climate models into localized peril predictions usable by insurers, cities, airports, ports, power plants, and other critical infrastructure. The company delivers mapping visualizations via Mapbox APIs and offers VR damage-visualization through a collaboration with Oculus. Founded in 2016 by Rich Sorkin, Eric Wun, Josh Hacker, and Alan Blumberg, Jupiter operates from offices in San Mateo, Boulder, and New York and serves clients including New York, Miami, federal agencies, and major insurers. With a new $23M financing and prior backing from DCVC and Ignition Partners, Jupiter is positioned to expand internationally to Rotterdam, London, and Singapore. The firm emphasizes quantifying uncertainty so risk managers can integrate actionable, asset-level predictions into planning and resilience investments. Jupiter's ClimateScore™ Intelligence Platform ingests petabytes of data from millions of ground-based and orbital sensors and applies physics-based models and automated machine learning to deliver hyper-local (street-by-street or individual building) predictions. Forecast horizons range from two hours to fifty years, and the company said it will launch FloodScore™ and HeatScore™ services to predict and manage flood and heat risks. Jupiter delivers asset-specific, dynamic climate assessments that factor in a changing climate rather than relying on historical stationarity assumptions, and includes verification and validation modules for statistical confidence. Customers and use cases called out include property developers, critical infrastructure operators, the public sector and insurance companies, with delivery via API, interactive maps, reports or custom consulting. The team includes climatologist Dr. Betsy Weatherhead and urban oceanographer Dr. Alan Blumberg, and advisors such as Todd Stern and Neal Wolin. Financially, Jupiter has raised seed and Series A financing totaling approximately $10 million to date.
