1 Main Street, 13 fl, Cambridge, MA, 02142, United States
Overview
K36 Therapeutics is focused on translating epigenetic modulation of oncogenic pathways into first-in-class small-molecule therapies. Its lead candidate, KTX-1001, is an orally bioavailable, selective inhibitor of the histone methyltransferase MMSET (NSD2/WHSC1), a target overexpressed in up to 20% of multiple myeloma patients with the t(4;14) translocation. The company launched with a $30 million Series A and plans to use the funds to advance KTX-1001 through first clinical proof-of-concept studies. K36 licensed worldwide intellectual property rights to KTX-1001 from Novartis Pharmaceuticals. The company intends to submit an IND for KTX-1001 in the first half of 2022. Leadership and governance were bolstered by the appointment of Lori Kunkel, M.D., to the board alongside investor-board members from F-Prime Capital and Atlas Venture.
