Overview

Chargifi provides a patented cloud management platform that enables businesses to manage, monitor and monetize wireless power charging. The company's solution targets stores, hotels, offices and event venues. Founded in 2013 by Dan Bladen, Chargifi is based in London and also maintains a New York office. In October 2018 it raised $7M in funding. The company intends to use the funds to expand across US and Asian markets. It has partnered with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to roll out its solution to HPE customers as part of HPE's connectivity solutions. Chargifi builds a wireless charging network using magnetic resonance hardware combined with a software-as-a-service platform for managing charging points, analytics, and venue marketing. The company resells the required charging hardware and provides network management tools to venues. Chargifi has run dark trials in five countries and has distribution and license partners across a further eight markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, India and the United Arab Emirates. It has signed two of London’s largest coffee chains and aims to launch publicly by the end of the year. Chargifi raised a $2.7 million Series A led by Intel Capital; other backers include Techstars, R/GA Ventures and ZipCar founder Brett Akker. Because device integration is not yet ubiquitous, customers currently plug a small wireless charging dongle into devices and use the Chargifi app.
