Kadmos
Rosenthaler Straße 36, Berlin, 10178, Germany
Overview
Kadmos offers an end-to-end salary payments platform that lets employers onboard and pay cross-border employees while giving workers a mobile app e-wallet and a debit card denominated in U.S. dollars or euros. Employers use a centralized dashboard to make and track payments to workers in temporary or short-term placements; workers receive a link to sign up and hold funds in hard currencies. The app supports instant remittances with predictable, sub-1% markups and automatic card conversion when spending in other currencies, which the company positions as cheaper than traditional bank fees. Kadmos describes its model as B2B2C: acquiring employer customers drives many end-user signups for the worker app. The startup is already working with shipping companies on an early iteration of the service and says industry demand is currently concentrated in USD and EUR. Co‑founders Sasha Makarovych and Justus Schmueser have said the team is exploring offering additional currencies if they expand into other industries. Kadmos offers employers a low-cost, secure method for international salary transfers while giving migrant workers a digital wallet and linked debit card to remit or spend funds. The company launched its platform in Q1 and plans to significantly expand product features post-launch. Kadmos has an initial foothold in the shipping industry and intends to expand into construction, healthcare, and hospitality. It targets industries with opaque mark-ups, kickbacks, and cash payrolls to restore financial freedom for blue-collar migrant workers. The startup highlights a large addressable market — citing 180 million migrant workers and a projected $1.6 trillion cross-border B2C payment volume — as part of its growth rationale. Kadmos will use new funding to accelerate product development, grow the team, and enter additional industries.
