KAERU offers a welfare-oriented cashless service combining a prepaid Mastercard-accepting card and a dedicated app that enables remote charging, usage history checks, and suspension of use if lost. The service targets care facilities, disability welfare facilities, social welfare councils, and adult guardians, and the company is developing B2B brands such as “KAERU Biz Care & Disability Welfare” and “KAERU Biz Rights Protection.” KAERU has begun implementations with municipalities and social welfare councils, including the Niigata City Social Welfare Council, and aims to expand nationwide. The company has pursued partnerships with regional financial institutions, including business alliances and share allotments with Tama Shinkin Bank and funding from Akigin NEXT Fund. Founded in October 2020, KAERU is led by CEO Tomohiro Okada, who previously worked on payment ventures including the launch of LINE Pay. To date the company has disclosed prior fundraising of ¥140 million in March 2022 and about ¥130 million in August 2024.
