Kannalife Sciences develops a new class of orally bioavailable small-molecule synthetic cannabinoid therapeutics that target neuroinflammatory pathways including GPR55, the NLRP3 inflammasome, and mitochondrial mNCX-1. Its lead candidate, KLS-13019, is being advanced to address neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases and is under preclinical evaluation for effects on neuroinflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction implicated in Parkinson’s disease. Kannalife recently received $1,493,409 (approximately $1.49M) from The Michael J. Fox Foundation to support preclinical research of KLS-13019.
