Karmasphere said it will use proceeds from its Series B to accelerate its product roadmap and expand sales and marketing initiatives. Since launching in 2010, the company has raised $11 million in total financing. Karmasphere is a Los Gatos, CA-based software company that develops tools to help engineers develop, deploy and debug large-scale data processing jobs. Its core product, Karmasphere Studio, is software for analyzing large data sets. The company focuses on enabling development and debugging of complex data-processing workloads. Karmasphere plans to commercialize Karmasphere Studio further using proceeds from its recent financing. The firm secured $5M in a Series A round from Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and U.S. Venture Partners. As part of the investment, Ann Winblad of Hummer Winblad and David Liddle of USVP will join the company’s board alongside co-founder and CEO Martin Hall.
