Kash Corp is a mobile payments company based in San Francisco and Waterloo that provides a platform allowing retailers and customers to pay directly from bank accounts, bypassing the traditional credit card network. Its solution speeds checkout, lets merchants track customer spending patterns, and delivers digital loyalty promotions to end users. Kash processes transactions for merchants for as little as 0.25% and often at no charge, while the product is free to retail customers. Led by CEO Kaz Nejatian, the company originally started in Canada and moved to San Francisco to join Y Combinator's summer 2014 batch. The company intends to use the recently secured capital for product development and to expand marketing and growth efforts. Kash secured a $2m seed round from Draper Associates, Green Visor Capital and Structure Capital.
